This diet is the pre-op diet that the dietitian has modified for me to keep into account that I will need to follow it for a month. I need to fit into that plane seat, remember?
She gave me a barebone diet (6 portions of carbohidrates, 3 protein, 3 vegetables, 2 fruit, 2-3 dairy or dairy substitute) and based on that I have developed the diet below.
I am introducing some vegetarian choices, just to vary things a little. And I have mixed and matched the days trying to keep things interesting and varied.
Also I am lactose intolerant so this is reflected in the plan above.
I am not sure yet whether I want to post here the various recipes I'll use during the week or not, it's all very basic cooking really.
Unless I want to make it definitely not basic cooking but give it an extra dimension and spend some time making great dishes... I don't know yet.
One sure thing is that this is what I should follow between now and October 16th, and then later on until my flight back on the 30th.
What makes me think that I will be able to follow this diet where I failed so miserably in following any other diet up to now? I don't know, I really don't. I will speak about it with the surgeon on Thursday (yes, the long awaited appointment is now less than a week away, finally!)
